| Giant government conspiracy to hide stats? |

Or is it more accurately "lazy bums in Ottawa who haven't gotten around to uploading the info yet"?
Either way, I'm desperately trying to figure out the federal Canadian elections results for 1988, 1993, and 1997. By region/province. Stats Can has the elections results for 1997 (not very neatly by region, but it will suffice. Gee, I wish I could find pretty graphics like CBC uses during the elections) and all sorts of elections stats up to 1977. But 1977 to 1997 is missing. It's like they never happened. *insert twighlight zone music*
Do people really hate Mulroney's Conservatives so much that they would remove them (and a bit of Liberal government on both sides) right out of Stats Can? Perhaps they were trying to deny that whole constitutional "thing" happened ... ?
More importantly, can anyone get me the stats for these elections (1988 and 1993) from somewhere else? I don't need them but I thought they would be useful for my tutorial tommorrow. I'm really ticked at Elections Canada and Stats Can right now and still have another reading to go through so I'm giving up. But if someone is sitting there right now thinking "Hmm ... twiddling my thumbs is starting to hurt. I would like to help someone right now" then please, feel free to send me to where I can be helped!
*damn feds. go figure, this week's readings are on western alienation and people generally being unhappy with the national government ... * |
