My wife and I were glad to be out of our apartment. We didn't have the problems you are having with the building, but we did have a major problem with Cockroaches. We have no idea where they came from, but I suspect from another apartment. Alot of elderly people lived in our building, and I know how some older people can be at housekeeping (my Uncle was particularly bad). The big problem was, they would onyl treat our apartment - no other apartments. The roaches would be gone for a few days then back again.
I am now a landlord. I have given my tenants short notice for maintenance from time to time, but I always ask that htey let me know if the time will not be suitable (except, of course, for emergencies). I only have three apartments to deal with, and a full time job as well. I always try to give at LEAST a full 24 hours notice, usually more (I.E. leave a note on Tuesday that I'll be in on Saturday). Good luck in getting your repairs done (and why can't the guy that comes to measure your door look at the light while he is there?) |
