subsidized housing? There are subsidies for coops and a variety of coops around... some are duplex, others triplex's and some detached homes. You can also get into townhomes or condo's via subsidy. I've done it before and you can get a list of private places via the housing managment commission. I've been in two such buildings in the past and they weren't bad.(just the last one and that was a design flaw for my unit... ie their living room was on my bedroom wall and only 2 units in the whole place had that problem)
