roasting is in your every post.

Can you not see that from moment I posted, it was a sub-thread? I'm posting regarding your seeming assertion that Christianity had no effect on the founding of the United States. As I said in reply to BloodyViking, my concern is historical revisionism. As far as MY topic goes, "should" or "shouldn't" are not concerned. "Did" or "didn't" are where I'm going.

Quilting_Kitty, I'll do my best. My question is:

"Given the recorded religious affiliations of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and the framers of the Constitution, what counter-evidence exists that their religious affiliations had no effect on the writing of these documents?"

My assertion is that, whether or not they should have been, historical evidence states that the Founders (when all, not just a chosen few, are considered) religious beliefs were part of the process of the Founding. Furthermore, those same people were largely Christian (one sect or another), so that Christianity did affect the founding.

I'll state again (why I don't know, no one appears to be listening) that I am concerned with possible distortion of history, NOT any application to current events. Drag that in once more and this conversation dies right here.
