Point A:
1) I personally would like to demand ALL of them be held accountable - but as a realist, I don't think either one of us believe that it will happen in our lifetime. 2) MoveOn is as "neutral" as the Spectator - they both have an agenda, they both spin, they both are profit AND ideologically motivated - I don't try to gloss this over, I admit it (and made clear in my post what the source was) and hope that people will take that into consideration and make their own decisions.
2) Point B: "most likely" neither of us will EVER know the "truth" as to whether or not he "believed" - what we "belive" is based as much on our own personal wants, desires and motivations as it is on any objective evaluation of the information available (yes, "at the time" not in hindsight) - thus in my mind, not really relevant.
All I CAN say is that I would have a considerably greater amount of respect for him and the rest of the current administration if they had the balls to stop lying (and continue to be stupid enough to keep getting caught doing it) and say "we were wrong - and in retrospect we made decisions that we may or may not have made had we been privy to better intelligence." I have more respect for Kerry for saying 'yeah, it wasn't intended to be broadcast, but I said it, and I'm not taking it back' then I do for anyone who says 'I never said that!'
I won't try to bait you with questions regarding the morality of a preemptive attack on a sovereign nation (regardless of the perceived threat), nor will I try to defend Clinton/Kerry/Kennedy or any other left of center politicos - In my very humble opinion, it's an unwinnable Viet Nam-like morass I choose not to wallow in.
Oh, I figured out the rwo words - and it doesn't matter if you bury 'um in a mountain of BS, those two words were blatant, patently obvious lies designed as pablum to be fed to sheeple - sheeple who will be led to slaughter for the sake of political ambition and power. I say a change is in order. You are welcome to disagree - see ya at the polls!
The Important Part:
I can say "the pot is black! until I'm blue in the face, and you can respond "but so is the kettle!" until you pass out on the kitchen floor next to me. Problem is, there is a grease fire in the kitchen that threatens to burn down the whole nation, and until folks like you and me can agree to set our differences aside at least long enough to get it under control, we may both end up as charred corpses. |
