The only way to do that really would be to lowercase "god" and make it non-specific. The point is that I can sympathize with the atheists. Why do we need to have any religious references in government, on the money or whatever? Take them the hell out and you've got no problems. Leave them in and you've got problems.

Why are the religionists clinging so desperately? They must realize their's is a lost cause.
