But the biggest concern is:

Most electrical companies have set up complex systemic control links that propagate over the power grids they operate, there is significant concerns that this technology will make the power grid more susceptible to hacking and cyber-terrorism.

This is the primary reason that electrical companies have been slow to adopt this service, they have to first develop ways to insulate their own control infrastructures.

But this is still cool.
