Of course it's ttyUSB0, and the problem was that the gpsd wasn't running, thats why I kept seeing nothing. Once gpsd is up and running, I get beautiful NMEA data directly from ttyUSB0. gpsdrive is also happy with the data, and is now complaining that not enough satellites seem to be visible from inside my office. To everyone who helped: Thanks, and sorry for bothering you with my lack of clue.
