Well, not by being hit. That's never a picnic.
Depending on how fast the car that hit you was travelling, how big, and all that jazz, your car may have had some significant frame damage. Once the frame is knocked out of square, the car's never going to drive right again, even with fancy-shcmancy new technological frame twisty machines.
With the alignment, steering, brake, and tire wear problems you were sure to be facing down the road, perhaps having the car totalled is a better solution than having it repaired.
Here in the US, most insurance companies will try their best to screw you with aftermarket parts, which hardly ever are an exact match for OEM parts. They're cheaper, y'know. I don't know how it is in Europe, but I would suspect it's much the same.
It stinks that you got into this at all, but since you have, I think you're better getting another car than trying to get that one fixed. |
