My cruddy little sister left us alone because she was both too stupid to properly use tools and too lazy to want to help. It was me and Dad against the lawnmower or porch swing or whatever needed fixing. I built my sixth grade science project of a crude computer in the garage with him. I saw him checking it out with a modicum of pride in his kid's ability to wire a cardboard box and attach a dry cell battery. I'd've gladly traded all my childhood ice creams and puddings for more garage time with my Dad.
