It used to be that if you were "furry", you were in to sex with animals. Then things expanded and roleplaying became more widely accepted (thanks to the internet and adult chat rooms) and people started playing the role of animals in such encounters, so the definition grew with it.

Haven't heard that particular one, but I can see where it would fit in.
