Military Chain of Command Question by Illiad2004-03-09 20:35:51
I was assigned to a joint unit by airborneric 2004-03-10 14:28:18
that had all of the armed forces involved - even the Coast Gaurd (which really is the fifth department of the DOD) Basically, in a unit like that, your chain of command is whoever your supervisor is, but it also wasn't a huge deal as the whole ego thing was kept in check by the mission. BUT when there was an issue - everyone knew who had the most time and then who had the appointment orders to be in charge.
