I thought the fuss was over someone pumping up the vote via a dummy account.
Kickstart never said the vote had to be strictly on the merits of the story, although I am sure that was probably his intent. I think there were other votes cast which were not cast based on the merits of the story, but on the affections of people for the writer.
The fact that there were votes cast from two accounts with the same IP is, I believe, the issue here.
UF is not a collection of literary critics, qualified to objectively review and critique the various strengths and weaknesses of each tale. There is going to be some popularity voting going on.
Since you aren't Kickstart, the person who designed the contest, I think you should leave the establishment of rules and ethics to him.
Note I am not saying whether or not I think sims mom voting for sim is either right or wrong. It's not for me to say. |
