I have a story to share with you by Llyr2004-03-09 15:46:05
  Contract reading time... by nate_t_g 2004-03-09 16:18:26
You Dad needs to be sure that the contract clearly stated "BigCorp's" responsibilities concerning the impact of changes in the contract (i.e. they agree to expect monetary impact by changing the agreement). Hopefully all of that was written down, as well as the subsequent changes. If so, a visit with a lawyer that specializes in contracts could be very informative. The gentle threat of legal action might be enough to dislodge that money. But your Dad should beware he doesn't upset the overly loft pride or vanity of some middle/high manager and cuase them to dig in their heels on a CYA attempt.

It is, of course, presumed that this was intentional. It could be a mistake, or a delay in their AP dept. However, it certainly wouldn't be the first time some shady operative at a large corporation tried to bilk an honest small businessman out of money.
