The proposal this is about has still to be ratified, though it's unlikely that that won't happen... Then again, EU elections are coming in June, and I sorely hope that those party sheeple in the parliament get what they deserve... Plus, certain aspects of the proposal are supposedly against the German constitution, which is higher ranking than EU law. So at least some local hope remains. (Somehow I have to think about Asterix now...)
