Help - brain freeze. Any hardware inspiration ? by WaveyDavey2004-03-09 11:50:22
could indeed be the PSU by psychoi3oy 2004-03-09 11:59:29
but if the a7v8x-x is anything like the a7v8x that i have, it's really really picky about the ddr400 it uses. i suggest telling bios to run it at 333 and see what it says.

bad power supplies can cause any number of symptoms, and psu's are definitely cheaper to replace than motherboards. i'd suggest an antec 400w (or other good name brand in the 400w range) for the system you're running there. you might be able to squeak by with a 350w but it's better to have more than too little.

but try downclocking the ram first, it's an even cheaper and easier fix.
