sounds like a problem... by AntiSane 2004-03-09 11:57:15
As much as I don't love IE for every day use I do like it at work where I normally have 5-8 different instances of IE running at once (each logged into various remote servers or the local DB).
Yes, it does crash. I average about 1 lockup per week that ends up with me killing the task (which in turns closes ALL instances of IE, Damnit!), but it causes me far less problems than I have experienced with Opera, Netscape, and Mozilla in the same enviroment. We haven't been allowed to try firefox at work yet as it is still in beta, but I have tried it at home and like what I see so far.

BTW, we run XP Pro at my work, all crit patches installed (the only thing we are allowed to install without asking), average machine has 256MB of ram and is anywhere from 800mhz to 1ghz.

On a personal note I have all the browsers mentioned above installed at home AND firefox (I like to be sure my website looks proper from as many angles as possible), and I'm not sure if it is habit or favoritism, but I seem to automatically start IE when I go off to do some personal web browsing (like right now).
