hiragana is not used for foreign names - katakana is. Both syllabaries represent the exact same sounds, BTW.

And give up the notion that your name will sound similar when spoken in Japanese. They only have a handful of sounds to use, so they have to convert it to something they can say. For example, your nickname would probably be something like "a- bu su to ra ku to".
