The advantage of a CD is that it's an exact copy of the original digitisation.

But all recorded music will always lack something - and that something is the audience participation.
If you watch the same musical peformance several times during a run - ie same musicians, same score etc, you will notice differences between each night, mostly due to the different response from the audience.

Some nights the audience will be "dead", and other nights they will be really enjoying the performance. This reflects on the performance itself!
