You have to restart the DB-instance for it to take effect. If you want to change it 'on the fly' you could don an : alter system set foo=bar; as system - user in SQL Worksheet. Altough that doesn't work for some stuff, just for something that can be changed "On the fly" like alter system set timed_statistics=true; To see what is set to what you can do an select * from v$parameter; Hey, just remember "If it were THAT easy EVERYBODY could do it." ;-)
