Also you could try to disable overlay from your DVD player settings, and then try to capture (PrintScreen key as suggested). For harder and geekier way: FlaskMPEG or TMPGEnc, if you are running windows. For linux try mpegtools (or was is bbmpegtools?). Specifically try to extract video stream out of transport or program stream (.VOB file). Then you have MPEG2 video stream, which should be easier to capture. If all those fail, try software from dvdrhelp.com.
