...of machine debuted, and I was awestruck. Having played with Apple ]['s at school, I craved something that rocked my senses with color, sound, tech that blew everything else away.
That Christmas, I talked/cajoled/wishlisted my mom out of a Commodore Amiga 1000. With Workbench 1.0 OS. With the extra 256k expansion, a second floppy, the monitor, and even better, a lightning-fast 1200 baud modem. Got a few games, but the stuff I really loved was Deluxe Paint, ABasiC, and the Macro Assembler--wasn't real sure how to work it for a while but it turned into a blast. Got all the Kernal reference books and studied the daylights out of 'em.
And I wonder why I never got outside much after age 13... |
