This phenomenom has been increasing in recent years, especially in the political and comercial spheres -- to the point now that governments (US, Canadian and Brithish, at least) are deliberately hamstringing or disbanding councils charged with impartially informing the government on scientific, social, and security issues, and rewiting the official reports that still recomend policies that the current decision-makers don't want to hear. |
