Depends on where it is and their rank... by Celticess 2004-02-16 19:50:28
at least in canada. I know someone that teaches army cadets. He also is in reserve. He has an old rocket launcher that I played with. It's disposable and it's for single use then they pretty much toss them. They didn't care that he kept it as a souvineer. However if he was in a malicious mood he'd just modify it. Apprently a slight modification makes the thing reusable tho they are initially designed to be disposed of. He knows of how to do it but he wont do it.

With the grenaide tho if it had been active I'm suprise it's in one peice. I'd of thought it would blow appart. If it was just a dummy grenaide that's single use I don't see why they'd totally object to them taking one as a souvineer unless it had ability to be recycled and reused. Here at army surplus stores we can get gas masks that work and munitions shells that are at least 2ft long... They are empty so you can use them for whatever you set your mind to but I suppose if you knew the right combo you could make it an explosive shell again but they'd have to find some creative way to activate it as it's not easy to come by the machines that would launch them. Oh and they also sell rather nice pine boxes with brass accents that held shells too. My roommate bought a couple for $14 and is using them as a locking gun case.
