When a prat in $EXPENSIVE_CAR undertook my little long wheelbase transit I was too stunned and too busy preventing extremely large dents in said $EXPENSIVE_CAR to tootle. (He WOULD have been killed by such dents. I would have been fine though.) A long wheelbase transit van has a rather large blindspot. You can lose pretty much anything under 3.5 tonnes in it. So when idiots sit in the blindspot, what am I supposed to do? I'd indicated for quite a while before manouvering to give anyone hidden there time to leave, but so many still don't bother.
