If you can't find enough items in history to be "proud" of (as if I somehow _should_ consider myself proud of being "luck-of-the-draw" born white) then you haven't studied your history well enough. There are many intellectual, scientific, political, etc advances that one could point to as significant and praiseworthy. There are also such events for other races (since we're drawing the lines along race lines). As with all races and nationalities there are plenty of good things to point out, as well as bad. It would be far better to STOP looking at race (which I think is the main point of the subject of that article) and look at the human race as a whole.
