Whites only scholarships...discuss by naturallylit2006-11-19 12:55:59
While the spirit is mean, it's perfectly allowable by Anonymous Freak2004-02-16 09:30:16

Could it be that this is a historical accident? by swisscheese2004-02-16 13:17:04
            Yes. I think it's very much a class problem by subbywan2004-02-16 13:24:40

1) America isn't *supposed* to *have* a class structure; if you're poor or disadvantaged, it's obviously due to laziness, or race (ie. historical accident*); if you were smart, and/or willing to work hard, you wouldn't need such *excuses* for not getting ahead. Casting blame on "class" considerations is *just* evading responsibility.

2) "class" is a word/concept largely associated with comunism/socialism/pinko-leftist ideology; it's use (outside of demographics) is automatic cause for ridicule or suspicion.

*(NOTE: I'm suggesting that for historical reasons, blacks tend to be over-represented in the economically-disadvantaged classes, and that class considerations have more to due with the discrimination they experience than does their skin color).
