Trust me, reading 'snooze with FreeAgent, Gravity, XNews, or even GNUS, is *much* better than reading it through Google Groups - if you have a working news server to point it at, that is. Most standalone newsreaders have much better threading and killfile features, and can access multiple newsservers (which may carry different selections of newsgropes); they also tend to be a lot faster in turnover time than GG is. The major advantage of Google Groups is that GG have their own newsservers, and you can access it through the web from anywhere with just a browser. Not a minor point, since many ISPs no longer have newsservers of their own, but hardly the only consideration.
