As long as it's not done by the government directly, it's perfectly fine.
Just like the College Fund, which now covers both American Indians and Blacks, is legal, even though it *IS* discriminatory.
Heck, when I was going to college, I applied for a few 'white only' scholarships. Of course, they weren't phrased that way. One was for Americans of Danish descent (come on, if THAT'S not a "white-only" scholarship, I don't know what is,) and a similar one for Belgians. (Yes, I'm descendent from makers of yummy pastries and waffles.)
While I am full supportive of a group's right to offer scholarships however they want, this one is just mean-spirited. I hope this group gets kicked off campus for promoting racial hatred. |
