...but if you don't like Red Hat, you won't like YDL. Mandrake is the about the same on PPC as on i386, in other words, it's usable but n00b-ish. The Gentoo and Debian distributions are well-spoken-of, but I haven't used them myself.

Now, that said... Man, your Powerbook comes with a perfectly good, licensed installation of the prettiest, most user friendly *nix I've ever seen or used in my life. I still have a YDL installation on my G4 dually, but I haven't found a reason to reboot to it in months. It can't do anything that can't be done with Panther.
