College isn't important for everyone, and is becoming less and less cost-effective every year. So if it's that hard for you, and you're not enjoying it or getting anything out of it, why do that to yourself?
The point of college, once you've gotten your social development and liver damage out of the way, is to get a degree that will open doors for a better job. If you can get that job you want without a degree, then why waste the time and money and mental anguish?
The sad thing is, the more people that have college degrees, the more useless a degree becomes. Supply and demand and all that. I don't have one and I've come to the conclusion that it's not all that important to have one. All a degree can do is get your foot in the door at a company. If you can get your foot in another way, you can save your $40,000.
Or you can keep going to school, keep going nuts, and rack up even more in student loan debt that you can pay off for the next forty years. Really, it's up to you. |
