the only retail stores open before 10 are pharmacies, grocery stores and convenience stores (many of which never close). This is because most people are (a) in the office working, and therefore cannot go out to purchase anything or (b) recovering from getting their kids off to school and it takes till 10 to get themselves together and out the door. The people working in the stores, in many cases, get there at 9 AM and do some stuff (like neaten up the merchandise on the shelves mangled by shoppers the day before, and discuss sports in the break room) before they unlock the doors.

Sorry to hear about your headache and hair product experiment gone awry.
