linux distro on apple, recommendations please by dissociated 2004-02-16 06:52:16
So i've just received my shiny new powerbook, and i'm intent on configuring it to dual-boot between OSX and Linux.

What i'm wondering is, what distro should i choose?
Yellow Dog would be the classic distro for apple. But when reading through the docs for Gentoo, i came across a note implying that it would run on apple too (i wasn't really paying attention). Similarly for Debian. And last night a friend told me that even Mandrake would install on apple, so now i'm wondering if maybe most distributions would support this?

So if anybody has experience with Linux on apple hardware, what would you suggest? Also, what apple-specific issues should i watch out for?

Thanks in advance for your time.
