I am back! by winsmith 2004-02-16 05:20:04
Has anyone missed me? Probably not, I wasn't gone that long, just two days or so. Still, sitting in my room, reading, being bored, or learning new household chores just to exercise the good old brain a bit (I can iron shirts properly now!), waiting for the net connection to come up again, I couldn't help to become a bit philosophical.
Only two days without the Internet, and only when it was gone I realised how much my life depends on it these days. I couldn't code, because I'm coding on my remote web server usually. I couldn't look up words for English homework. I couldn't listen to web radio. My computer suddenly seemed so useless.
But nevertheless it showed me I'm probably spending too much time in front of this box, addicted so to speak. So I'll probably cut it down a bit in the future. Others smoke, I surf. But smokers can quit too, so I should try and reduce my traffic.
One of these days, I'm going to try and spend a few weeks offline, just for the thrill of it. Maybe I'll even go hiking or something?

For now, though, I am back.
What have I missed?
