Gettysburg address by skeptic 2006-11-19 12:55:59

Today's Loose Parts mentions the Gettysburg Address. So, not being an American, and wanting to get the joke, I googled for the Gettysburg Address text and read it.

Well, it seems to me Lincoln was wrong: the world remembers what he said on the field, but hardly what actually happened on that field and the men who died there. Yeah, it was the American Civil War. Not a clue as to the rest. But even non-Americans know or can easily find out what the Gettysburg Address was.
