The problem I had with Office 2000 by thegeneral 2004-02-16 01:46:05
that I had mentioned - where any office app would close when a file was opened or saved. I had uninstalled and reinstalled (even to the point of manually digging through the registry removing any reference to any office component) close to 10 times with no luck. I ended up installing Open Office because it happened in the middle of the semester in college and I didn't have the time (or the will) to reformat. Over the holiday break, I ended up backing up my important stuff, wiping the HD, reinstalling Windows and Office, and finally, it worked. I never did find out what the problem was, and thankfully, it hasn't happend since (although I have upgraded to office XP).
