        free(NULL) can crash some systems by Slamlander 2004-02-10 18:20:35
for example, under PCDOS, it will clear the memory at 0x0000, this is the base of the interrupt vector table ... oops!

NEVER free(NULL)! In fact, check for NULL before freeing. Of course, this means that you can't use realloc() the way you want. DUH, that's why malloc() exists.
