Egads I hate MS SQL servers by Kickstart 2004-02-10 17:09:18
Here's the situation...I've got a NT6.0 box running MS SQL and NetTracker. NetTracker has 33 reports, of which 3 or so are EXTREMELY LARGE. While most of the reports take approximately 10 minutes per day to complete, these ones can easily take 6 hours each.

I know there are maintenance tasks and things that can be run to improve MS SQL performance. I know about db_check, and I run it about once per month. Dunno if it helps. For NetTracker I "remove the data" from old months on the large reports and that helps a lot.

Is there anything else I can do? Not only do I hate MS SQL, but I don't know all that much about regularly maintaining it and so I don't want to spend 8 hours (that I really don't have anyway) learning what I can do.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

KS
