is stats on regular kids being assulted and why they pic those kids in the regular population... ie loners, single parent homes, poverty stricken homes, etc or they are in a place of power ie scout master, teacher, etc... and from what I've heard the pedophile group run mags give tips on which stradegies work to pick up the kids and not get caught.
But for those kids with disabilities the risks are higher and alot don't speak up so mainstream doesn't necisarily know the stats. Of all the people I know online with autism I'd say 90% or more have ben victims of childhood molestation or worse. That is just the autistic group other groups where they also have other stuff such as mental handicaps the rate is also quite high... But the rate of kids with no special needs in main stream society it's about 30% they suspect have been innapropriately touched, sexually photographed/exploited, molested, or raped. With regular kids it's hard enough for them to speak up... for the disabled ones some of them can't speak or don't have the words even if they can speak... or alot of people may not believe them so they are the more silent vast majority of assult victims out there. Sadly a few turn into repeat abusers copying what was done to them. This is what occured with the boy who assulted my son. :( However I perfer to think most of us that survived it are like me and never get like that, and are perhaps even more protective of our children in some ways than parents who weren't hurt as children. |
