"Box" or "Computer"... by kwyn 2004-02-10 15:59:29
I call mine my box. As in "Hey, d'ya want me to bring my box over for that LAN party? "

We religiously refer to my mom's as her computer. It has a front (where the floppy goes in) and a back (where all the connections are) and we agreed on that terminology so I could be tech support from afar.

With my idiot little brother, it's the "Hey! Don't even think about touching that!" He's killed more components than I can remember.

My stepdad has a Mac. We call it the fruit and point and giggle. When he's listening, we'll call it his computer. ~_^

But a CPU has never been the whole computer, even in our geek-challenged home.
