Drive cloning NT'ish problem by LooseChanj 2004-02-10 13:38:59
Ok, I've run into this problem before. You clone a drive, and for some reason Windows (of the NT flavor) can get confused. And what you end up with is a machine that you can login to, but it logs you right back out. I'm not overly concerned, it's a Win2k3 partition I used for educational purposes so I can reinstall and feel no pain. The funny part is, there's an XP (french) partition on the drive as well, and that's all fine and dandy. (The Win2k3 and XP partitions are seperate in an extended partition, primary partition being just data.)

As a geek, I'd just prefer to fix this. I remember one solution being boot into another windows install and do some registry editing to give the full path to a file windows couldn't find but needs to log you in. Any ideas?
