Either you'll hate it because of the changes from the old series, or you'll like it in it's own right.

Or perhaps you'll have both :)

Compared to the old one, it's really not as innovative, and the relationships between characters are VERY different.

As a standalone though, ignoring that there ever was a BSG before this, it's pretty good, and there are some excellent twists, although it's only in comparing the plat changes to the original series that they become truly evil.
