"McClellan said the records do not specifically show that Bush reported for Guard duty..." OR, as a well known right leaning radio personallity (Don Imus) said this morning - it's nice that he can prove he got paid, but it seems to me that he has yet to prove he actually showed up and earned it. That seems to be the real question. Besides, the dates just don't seem to match..." (paraphrased, but to that effect).
AND: re "confirm"
It doesn't matter how big the "Fair and Balanced" banner is at the top of their page is, FOX News is widely regarded as being neither. Thus, any content they provide will be suspect (just like other sources - including CNN, they have an obvious slant).
AND re: "debunked"
any "source" that also offers the "God and Reagan" book FREE ? click here. Did you know that "Reagan Defeated the Evil Empire With Faith"??? Is, in my very humble opinion, NOT an unbiased source of news or information - perhaps interesting reading, but not exactly a source I'd cite if I was trying to make a point.
I guess what is making me wonder is the number of veterans - (Viet Nam and more recent) that I know very well. Most of them are now openly starting to question this - and are wondering how come THEY had to go when the son of a diplomat got to stay home and play with jets - and for the most part, come and go as he wanted - even IF he "made up the time"
SO, for the sake of debate, lets say he did make up the time. In my book, as an American who has nothing but respect for those who served, he didn't "serve" - he just has some military "experience" for his resume - and that's NOT that same.
True, Kerry was against the war when he returned - but as a man who actually served - I'd say he EARNED the right to say what he felt. Bush keeps trotting out "documents," but I have yet to see proof he has the stones gravitas to be a real leader. |
