than the bottom rung again, you are correct.
I took this almost-but-not-quite-middle management job as a starting position here.
By then I had 8 years experience under my belt as a Tech then Tech Supervior/Junior Admin with other employers.
Most "good" jobs want both, unless you work your way up from entry level, which is what our Support Manager did, came in as a Tech, got promoted to Lead Tech, then by sheer compentency was promoted to Support Manager. Though he does have an AAS in Network and Communications Technologies.
Had we chosen to post the job, we would have been looking for someone with a minimium of 5 years experience and a B.S.
