2) it's a degree on the science behind computers. There are usually 2 or 3 options to choose from. These include:
Computer engineering, includes mostly hardware and very low level stuff.
Computer science, low to high level theory with a strong mathematics background (usually a built in minor). These people (which I am one) become anything from coder to full developers to architects of software systems. Some even go as far as Systems design which is more hardware and capabilities stuff.
The last option is the business way, Computer Information Systems, or such. These guys turn out to be tech sales or mainframe COBOL programmers, DBAs, etc... :)
There is alot of crossover from these as well, so it's not all black and white :P. If you like theory of machines and languages and love math, you'll like the CompSci degree. |
