If I make a typo in an URL I want to know about that ASAP, not wait for some bloody search site to load. Site Finder was not controversial with users, 84 percent of whom said they liked it as a helpful navigation service Yeah, great... What users were that exactly? Those who used the engine or those who closed the page in disgust? And of those 84%, how many understood the negative implications and how many will keep that opinion after they experienced them? Galvin said that the continued opposition stems from "an ideological belief by a narrow section of the technological community who don't believe you should innovate the core infrastructure of the Internet." Gag That makes me wish to forcefully shove a boot up a narrow section of Mr Galvin. Besides, how exactly is a web site an innovation? Last I looked the web was full of them...
