Lots of Newbies on the board.... by j.butterfly2004-02-05 13:03:02
longtime lurker by spiffikins 2004-02-05 13:36:15
I've been reading UF since 1999 when my friend Ivy did a presentation in our class on "people who are finding alternative ways to make a living off the Internet" (ie - Illiad)

I'm seeing 30 a couple years off in the distance, and hoping that by the time I get there, I'll be out of the career limbo I'm in currently :)

Working as a software developer/database admin/systems admin/general troubleshooter for a software company in California, but for various reasons (contributing to my limboness), currently living in the Lower Mainland, and telecommuting.

Hmm, aside from the geeky things, I read sf/fantasy voraciously, am glad to be back in Canada so I can occasionally see my favourite Canadian bands live (Great Big Sea @ the Commodore Ballroom February 20th! woohoo!) and am currently trying to resolve my inner conflict of living at home with my mom and brothers temporarily with wanting to "nest" - Trading Spaces and Ikea have given me lots of ideas, and no place to do it!

I appreciate all the help I've received from UFies, and hope to give back!
