You are still attacking the class, including ALL CEOs, with some new exceptions. My problem with that is that it is nothing less than class hate. It's like saying that all Negros are criminals, except for the few that I know are not. The statement suffers from gross over generalization. Don't lambast the class, CEO. Lambast the instances, Kenneth Lay, et all.
CEO salaries are closely wedded to performance. There are two reasons for that. One is to, hopefully, keep them somewhat honest. The other is to get good ones. A CEO that increases Lucent profits, by 8.5BUSD, gets compensated a percentage. Part of that comes from shares of stock they own and had to buy in order to get the job. Are you saying that they should not even have the fair treatment that any other shareholder gets? The concept fails on it's face-value alone.
Yeah, so the guy is walking around with a 6KUSD Rolex on his wrist ... so f'ing what! Okay, you can't afford one, then get the skills and abilities that get you there. Otherwise it sounds like pure envy. Are you honestly gonna tell me that if you had the dough, that you wouldn't buy those shower curtains?
Some of us worked hard, a lot of us lost much. It comes with the territory. When you live large you risk large and sometimes you lose it all and other times you win it all. It's just the nature of things. That life is stressful.
Do us all a favor, look into the CEO of Taser International. Study what he's doing and how he got there. He got luck but, he also risked it all. The first two years of Taser, he was living in is parent's home because he couldn't afford his own flat. He is now worth mutiple millions. But, for every one of him, there are other that didn't win their bets, for whatever reasons. Now, are you going to say that he's evil, just because he's a CEO and has made a lot of money? I applaud him because he has proven that the system can and does work! It gives me hope.
About the Enron thing, if you don't understand that Kenneth Lay was motivated out of revenge then you have no clue what you are talking about and are only parroting the media hate-line.
I wont go into the political red herring that you dragged, it's irrelevent to this. You know my feelings regarding GWB anyway. However, I will say this, I don't call him names and I don't disparage ALL US presidents, or even all Democratic Party members. Class hatred and class bigotry is just plain wrong. It is also a favorite tool of Communists, which is why I couched my comment in those terms.
I might also point out the sports celebrities make a lot of money. They also have a very short career life. However, just one of them can pack a stadium. If you don't like the money they make then stop spending your money insupport of their sport. Trust me, their salaries will drop like rocks if their franchise stops making money. It's the same with CEOs.
Stop the over-generalizations (class hatred) and stick to specifics.
