Grenades (the effective use thereof): by Irrelevant 2004-02-05 10:55:55
If you're being chased by someone who is a good distance (at least four seconds' worth of running) behind you, pull out a grenade, start ticking, and run around a corner. When it's on 2 seconds, step out from around the corner and lob it.

Trust your instincts when using rifle grenades. If, after lining up a shot almost without thinking, you think "that'll never go far enough" or whatever, and adjust your shot, you *will* miss. If you just let your subconcious do the aiming, you'll miss a lot when you're starting out, but once you get good you can pull off some pretty cuspy tricks with RGs.

Smoke grenades can be held while they tick. If you hold one until the ticks run out, then you'll throw it automatically, and it'll leave a trail of smoke behind it as it flies. Even just one 'puff' of smoke is pretty opaque, so you can use this to cover a fair distance with smoke for a second or two (for running across an exposed walkway, say).

If you are definately going to die in a melee, pull out a grenade and hold it. When you get floored, you will drop it, and it'll continue to tick. Hopefully this'll be the end of the other guy (especially if he's a covert).
