Granted a large majority of equestrians take better care of their horses than themselves, but you have a few deviants. Examples include injecting alcohol into tails of Quarter Horses so the tail will lie down flat and not lift up, snipping the muscles in Saddlebred tails and/or placing ginger ointment (which burns) on the horse's anus so the tail will stand straight up, placing golf balls under the pads and shoes of Tennessee Walking Horses so they will pick their feet up higher, tying a horse up all night long so his head is raised in the air to cause him to hold it down in competition, and the list goes on and on. Sadly it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the sport for the rest of us.
